All of our campouts are great fun, like the group picture above, taken at summer camp 2006 at Slippery Falls Scout Ranch. Membership in Troop 217 for 2008 is only $55.00 per year. This includes the Boy Scouts of America registration fees, Boys Life Magazine, annual equipment fees and troop dues. The dues cover Rank advancement award patches, merit badge patches, the advancement cards that the youth are given as a permanent record, and other miscellaneous troop expenses. Campouts are usually an additional $10 for food and $2 or $3 for the campground fees. But, these fees are quite often waived by the campgrounds owner or host in exchange for the troop performing a service project at the camp. If you join Troop 217 you can go on fun campouts, float trips and join in on other fun things, all the while learning great leadership skills, survival skills, and just plain having a great time.
